Teen Suicide
When most teens commits suicide many people tend to be affected. People wonder why would a young child or teen want to kill themselves. Children shouldn’t have any worries, they should be enjoying their life not stressing over things that are basically irrelevant. The reasons for a teen to commit suicide can be so confusing and unexplainable actually it’s kind of rare. The rate of suicides and the attempts increases a lot through out the years.
Also, suicide is the third leading cause of death for the age of fifteen through twenty four year olds. Most teens are being killed by firearms or just committing suicide, either because they got themselves into something they can’t get out or just no longer caring if they live or die. About sixty percent of our suicides in the United States of America are committed using a firearm. The suicide rate differs between boys and girls. Girls tend to think before they act, such as in ways of thinking about over-dosing on some pills, and or maybe even cutting themselves.
But on the other hand boys tend to get straight to the point no questions asked justing killing themselves such as hanging or shotting themselves. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo wanted to commit suicide because he was in love with a girl named Rosaline but she didn’t love him back. So Romeo became depressed and sad. He then finds Juliet and forgets all about Rosaline he becomes madly in love with Juliet and she falls madly in love with him! I think it was true love, love at first sight they even kissed the first time they met. So even relationships can cause teens to commit suicide it is so wrong I think and its not right at all.
Assault On Learning
What stood out to you from this report?
What stood out to me was that all this violence is happening and yet nobody is trying their best to stop it. If they were trying to figure out ways to stop the violence and stop broadcasting about it maybe it would be stopped but until then it will still go on.
Why do you think this issue is important for our school district to address?
I think this issue is important for the school district to address because it informs students to stay safe and not to get into any trouble that may start the violence. And also it helps to know what is going on in schools today I’m sure that adults and parents would want to know what is going on too.
What recommendations would you make to reduce violence in our city’s schools?
The recommendations that I would make to reduce violence in our cities schools is to split the bad children up in one school and the good children in another school. Have every student that has problems getting along with others have a person to watch over them or their parent to get them to do right.
What personal experiences, if any, have you had with violence in schools?
I never had any experiences with violence in school I’m not a trouble maker or the type thats into all that !

Charlotte’s Web
Author: By. E.B-Elwyn Brooks
I think the author’s purpose in writing this book was to express friendship, show caring and love. The intended audience for this book are students, children and teachers or anyone who finds it interesting to read. I rate this book a 6.
A minor character in the story is Wilbur he is Fern’s pig and they really don’t want a pig anymore because pigs eat a lot and grow to be very fat. Wilbur had major importance because he was trying to save Charlotte from dying but when it’s your time to go there is nothing anyone can do about it. Then in the story they wanted Wilbur the pig to die or get sent to the country fair but Fern don’t want that to happen so she was kind of upset. Many were worried about Fern. At the end Charlotte dies and all her babies and grand babies were still living and well Wilbur promised to tke good care of them.
Catalogue Poem
I have to
wake up at 5:30 am everyday
Wash up and get dress
Then it’s heading to the bus stop for school
Sometimes I be so tried that I forget something
My mom says I would lose my head if it wasn’t connected to my body
While in school I have certain classes
Some classes on the first, second, and third floor
That’s a hike I don’t like steps but I could walk miles without them
I have to stay up on all my work and be on point
To get all my credits and enough or more
The school day is over and I’m off to the train
To go home and stay in my lane
So when I’m home here comes the chores
first the bathroom, the kitchen, next it’s vacuuming the living room
I got to sweep the steps down and wipe them down
I be feeling like I’m the only one cleaning sometimes
I don’t like to clean up so much give me a brake
I just take my time and do it all right
because nobody want’s to get in trouble for not following directions
So that’s what I do during the days now I’m tired and all worn out
Now it’s bedtime so I hop in the shower and put on my pj’s
Nitey nite see you when the moon get bright!
Acrostic Poem
Minus all the money given and lost
Any and everybody goes shopping
Life is nothing without it what would you do if you couldn’t shop
Live it up and shop until you drop!

Article of the Week
Electric cars cost way more then traditional cars. Most traditional cars run on gas but electric cars run on a rechargable battery. I don’t understand how a car can work on a rechargable battery. So that’s like saying if your car brakes down you have to plug the battery up somewhere and wait until it’s fully charged. Having a electric car takes more time out your day then an traditional car because with a traditional car you can go to the gas station get gas and be on your way. My personal opinion is that a eletric car is a waste of time it’s just to much to deal with.
Six Passages
*Spring 1944 . . . This was a year like any other, with it’s springtime it’s betrothals, it’s wedding and births. Page 6 Section 1
Reaction: It was just a typical year and the season was just right it was spring. Spring is not cold nor is it hot it’s just the right temperature.
*Get up , sir, get up! . . . I could not say anymore. Page 12 Section 5
Reaction: I felt that the man should have believed Elie and got up as quickly as possible. It was something serious that you don’t take for granted but then again the man was tired, if someone would have woke me up and told me it was an emergency I would have thought he was playing too. But if normally you don’t get waked up out your sleep and all of a sudden this day your getting woked up then I would just follow the directions.
*My father’s presence was the only thing that stopped me . . . I was his only support. Page
Reaction: I felt as though Wiesel was giving up on himself, he could have kept on keeping on and don’t worry about what may happen but worry about what was happening right then and there.
*The cherished objects we had brought . . . left behind in the train, and with them, at last, our illusions. Page 27 Section 1
Reaction: I felt as though when they left all their things on the train they also left their dignity and pride.
*For the first time, I felt revolt rise up in me . . . What had I to thank Him for? Page 31
Reaction: I felt as though even though bad things were happening he should have never gave up on God and kept the faith because God will never forget about you!
*”Faster, you filthy sons of bitches!” . . . We looked as though we were fleeing before them. Page 81
Reaction: I would have felt so disrespected if someone cursed at me and said such thing that is so mean and rude. I would have had to say something back and then I would have probably been beating.
Night Questions Part:2
1.) Why do you think the Germans chose to hang a few prisoners in public at a time when they are murdering thousands each day in the crematoriums?
I think the Germans chose to hang only a few prisoners in public at a time when they were murdering thousands each day in the crematoriums because they were just trying to scare others so they would be afraid or frighten of them. Also probably to notify them to make them know not to mess with them.
2.) Give examples of the ways Elie’s relationship with his father change throughout the book. What causes those changes?
Some ways Elie’s relationship with his father changed was when they first arrived at Auschwitz, his father got hit and he was afraid to do anything to help. Then when they were at the crematory about to take a shower his father was so tired / weak and wanted to rest and Elie just kept on telling him to hold on and don’t go to sleep. He could see his father getting weaker and weaker and Elie began to worry himself because he thought his father was giving up and wanted to die. What caused those changes was mainly fear that Elie had.
3.) After Elie’s father was chosen for selection, he gives his son a knife and a spoon. Why is this a significant act? What does Elie mean when he says “the inheritance”?
I think Elie’s father gave him a knife and spoon so he can use it for a tool or as an weapon to protect himself. It is a significant act because it’s logic and generous, also when Elie says “the inheritance,” it means that his father gave him something that he can keep forever since they were separating.
4.) At the beginning of the book, Elie described himself as someone who believed “profoundly.” How have his experiences at Auschwitz affected his faith?
Elie’s experience at Auschwitz affected his faith because all the horrible / bad things that were happening he didn’t know what to believe in. So since that was going on his experiences lead to him not believing in God anymore.
5.) At one point on the cattle train to Buchenwald, a German workman causes a “stampede” in the wagon. How does he do this? What do his actions suggest about him? What does this incident suggest about the prisoners?
A German workman causes a stampede in the cattle wagon by throwing a piece of bread in there. His actions suggest that he is a disrespectful man and just rude to others. How would he like if he was starving and then someone threw food near lots of hungry people and him he would like that at all. This incident suggest that the prisoners were like a bunch of animals seeking it’s prey and fighting over what … just a little piece of bread.
6.) What conflicts arises in Elie regarding his father?
The conflicts arises in Elie regarding his father is whether he should leave or stay with his father. His father was just giving up on himself and just saying things out of the blue that weren’t positive. Elie just thought that it was time to just let go of something you can’t have forever anyway!
7.) What happens on January 28, 1945? What was Elie’s emotional state at this point?
What happens on January 28, 1945 was his father was on a hospital bed and was beaten. Elie’s emotional state at this point was calm, cool, and collected. He didn’t do a thing to help his father he just watched the officers beat him. If I was him I would have did something to help because I can’t just sit and watch someone get hurt.
8.) In the next to the last sentence in the book, Elie says that when he looks in the mirror after liberation, he sees a corpse gazing back at him. He ends the book by stating, “The look in his eyes, as they stared into mine, has never left me.” What does that sentence mean?
What that sentence means to me is that I felt he was remembering his father and how he was staring into his eyes through his last days. Also he was probably remembering when he didn’t help his father when he was calling for help and he needed Elie. When Elie looks into the mirror he probably was seeing his father in him or a spirit.
9.) How has Elie tried to keep you from responding to his story the way his father once responded to the one told by Moshe the Beadle? How successful has he been?
I really don’t think Elie was trying to keep me from responding to his story the way his father once responded to the story told by Moshe the Beadle. Elie explained his story very well and gave good details and it actually made you feel like you was there when all this was happening. He told the struggle he was going through and how he survived and how he got over it. The story wasn’t difficult at all it was told to be understandable. The story Moshe the Beadle told he could have explained his self more better so people could have believed him.
10.) What is the meaning of the title, Night? If you were to give another title to this book, what would it be and why?
The meaning of the title “Night,” is just stating that the story was going to have a little darkness in it like bad things happening at a bad time period. The story couldn’t have another title that would absolutely fit it. I think “Night,” was a great title for the book because it fits the story from beginning to the end.

The Secret Life Of Bees
Author: Sue Monk Kidd
The authors purpose for writing this book was to inform people about race, tell them about love, and just about a family living in turbulent times and how they lived / survived.
Who I think is the intended audience for this book is women, students, girl clubs and people who may find this book interesting to read.
Out of 1-10 I rate this book a 10.
I highly recommend all women to read this book they may be touched by the book and or watch the movie.
I rated this book a 10 because it was so touching and it really made a huge inpack in my life. I really liked the movie it liked made you see things in your own point of view like putting yourself in their shoes. Then the book made you imagine things like that was still going which some of it is such as racist, it doesn’t matter what color you are we are should be treated fairly. Treat others like they suppose to be treated nicely and not rude or mean.
